About Matt

I was born and raised in San Diego, California, and while I’ve lived and worked in other places inside and outside of California, I’ve called San Diego home for most of my life.  I graduated from Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego and went to college for a short period at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ before transferring back to California and graduating from San Jose State University in the Bay Area.

I am married to an amazing woman, wife and mother.  Kyna and I have known each other since high school and when we reconnected after our college years, we fell in love and married in 2003.  In 2009, we became proud parents of a perfect baby girl. Now a toddler, our daughter Ellie has of course become the true joy of our lives.

I started my professional career in the field of advertising and marketing, but had an opportunity to enter into the residential mortgage lending industry in 2006, where I found it to be the perfect chance to blend my passion for helping people with my interest in finance.

I believe the most valuable service any mortgage professional can offer is to honestly educate customers with accurate information.  By doing so, we help our clients make sound decisions for their family and financial future.

I have helped several hundred families with their home financing needs. With over 16 years of customer service, sales and consulting experience my ultimate goal is to be the most respected, trusted and sought after mortgage professional in the industry.

I will accomplish this by building lifelong relationships with my customers, associates and referral partners based on reliability, follow-through, and honest education regarding my industry, as well as fair, straight-forward customer care.

When I am not helping my customers with their home financing plan, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family. Some of our personal passions include a love for the outdoors. We enjoy camping, hiking, skiing etc.  We also enjoy traveling abroad, visiting other countries and experiencing other cultures.  We were able to do quite a bit of that before Ellie was born, and as she gets older we hope to show her some of the many places in our world that we have fallen in love with.  My two favorite places we’ve visited to date are Ireland and Italy.
